Job Summary :
- Analyzing data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
- Devising long-term development strategies for product categories
- Develop and propose category plans to meet revenue goals
- Define the product gaps versus competition & meets consumer demands on new products.
- Develops suggestion for slow-moving products and suppliers alongside with exit plans
- Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
- Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
- Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
- Standardize the store layouts and category sequencing
- Develop merchandising guidelines leading to implement planograms
- Lead assortment clustering process alongside with procurement teams
- Bring new concepts to business to implement and manage the cat man implementations
Qualifications :
- BSc/BA in business administration, marketing or related field
- Solid knowledge and proven experience of category management, marketing or sales
- Proven record of successful vendor relations and product assessment
- Ability to foresee market trends and stay ahead of the competition
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability and data analysis skills
- Excellent collaborative and team building skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Experience :
- 5+ years of work experience in product and category management
- Significant experience in sales, marketing, and purchasing strongly preferred
- Proven record of building a category management infrastructure
- Computer literacy with good command of English
- Experience in IT/Software, related to merchandising area (JDA, Spaceman etc.)
