Job Summary:

  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budget cost estimate, bills of quantities and other documentation.
  • Track changes to the design and / or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Monitor and control budgets and costs throughout the Development including defects Liability period.
  • Procure or agree the services of contractors and / or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.
  • Prepare Work Order and Purchase Order for all procurements and assist contract administration as per direction.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Contract documents, Cost Control, variation review and interim payment review and recommendations.
  • Procurements related to all supermarket requirements and issuing WO and PO as per company procedure.
  • Oversight management of the consultants / contractor’s quantity surveying activities related to assigned development.
  • Monitor all expenditures related to the assigned development against the budget estimates.
  • Review, analyse and comment on all payment certificates related to the assigned development and all types of payments that re submitted for Al Meera approval including the contractors, and all consultants.
  • Review, comment and monitor cost report and prepare a monthly cost report for each of the assigned developments.
  • Participate in preparing a cost management plan for each development and Review & comment on all the forecasted budgets.
  •  Review claims quantities and cost related issues and Maintain all payment log.
  • Track the insurance and/or Bonds, alarm the Management before expiry.
  • Tender evaluation report for contractors, consultants submissions.
  • Input issuing the monthly progress report received from contractor & consultants.
  • Review and comment on the E2 log (The contracts planned material procurement schedules throughout the contracts period.)
  • Maintain and manage contractor’s materials submittal logs (Shop Drawings, Request for information and Material Submittals) and ensure that the consultants logs are in line with the contractor’s logs, highlight and delays.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or Quantity Survey accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor’s (RICS)
  • Any memberships with Internationally recognized Chartered institutes as such RICS, ARICS, and CIOB is required.
  • Previous experience with Building Design Consultancy and Project Management Consultancy is required.
  • Continuous training through attending Seminar’s workshops, papers writing and pursuance of any other relevant certification.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of direct Quantity Surveyor experience in building construction industry is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Building Design Consultancy and Project Management Consultancy is required
  • Thorough experience in Contracts, claim analysis, recommendations and variation settlement.

Job Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge in Contracts Management and Moderate Knowledge in Cost Management Techniques.
  • Knowledge on International Condition of Contracts, FIDIC, Qatar General Condition of Contracts.
  • Successful track record of consistent achievement in previous QS Role; within a multinational company / organization.
  • Knowledge on standard method of measurements. Contractual Bonds & Insurances.
  • Knowledge on variations and Site instruction formats.
  • Ability to use construction costing software (candy).
