Job Summary:

  • Responsible and accountable for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within the budget. 
  • Responsible and accountable responsible to supervise and manage the consultants, contractors and other sub-consultants at the assigned development Project. 
  • Responsible and accountable to prepare and manage scope of work and tender documents for design consultancy and design and build construction package. 
  • Responsible and accountable to manage design consultants to complete the design packages in compliance with all stockholder’s requirement. 
  • Responsible to coordinate and carryout all renovation and modification works to any on the existing supermarkets as per stockholder’s requirement. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Establish & maintain Master Progress Schedule for all assigned projects. 
  • Maintain stakeholders, Consultants and contractor relations and periodically update database. 
  • Prepare Budget, cost estimate and financial planning. Establish & monitor administrative procedures for the projects. 
  • Maintain General Contract Documents for all assigned projects. 
  • Manage and keep informed of all requirements for Insurance, Safety, Labour Relations, Employee Relations and Maintain Quality Assurance and Control etc. 
  • Keep management informed of all progress of project, budget and progressive payments. 
  • Develop, maintain and implement project procedures in line with the company’s policies and procedures. 
  • Contribute to identify project risks and opportunities, maintain a log of the same that shall be updated on a regular basis. Assign risk owners and follow up accordingly until resolved. 
  • Monitor the flow of all submittals and approval process from inception to completion. 
  • Develop and identify time & cost saving items and initiate leading the Value Engineering issues. 
  • Manage and monitor the projects operations and maintenance manuals in conjunction with QA/QC Manager. 
  • Compile and issue the weekly progress report including risk identification and weekly decisions and targets to the management’s final approval. 
  • Review and comment on the monthly progress report and periodically update status to the management. 
  • Organize and chair weekly claims meeting. \organize and chair weekly technical meeting all parties. 
  • Chair new activities kick off meetings. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture of Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized accredited University. 
  • Preferably a Master’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering or Construction management from an internationally recognized accredited University. 
  • Any memberships with internationally recognized Chartered Institutes as such AIA, RIBA, AIIA, AMIE, MIE etc. is required. 
  • Grade “A” certification from MME Committee for Accreditation of Engineers & Consultancy Offices.  
  • Previous experience with Building Design Consultancy and Project Management Consultancy is required. 
  • Continuous training through attending Seminars, workshops, papers writing and pursuance of any relevant certification. 

Experience: 

  • minimum of 15 years of building design and construction management experience, with the last 5 years served in the capacity of a project manager is required. 
  • A proven, successful track record of consistent achievement in in previous project Management role within a multinational Company / organization, where at least one project of over QR 100 million has been successfully deliverd. 
  • Working knowledge of the GCC countries.  

Skills: 

  • Familiar with various construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances. 
  • Design management skills and strong technical knowledge to enable him/her assess technical issues at site. 
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft office suite of programs. Knowledge of Primavera scheduling desirable. 
  • Very strong English oral & written communication skills are a must.
