Al-Mohannadi, Member of Central Municipal Council, along with Mr. Khalaf Bin Issa Al-Bujumhour Al-Muhannadi and other numerous Al Khor and Thakhira dignitaries and Al Meera representatives.

Leading up to the launch date, Al Meera’s team was working at full speed to open the new branch in Thakhira following the closing of the Al Khor branch during the last quarter of 2013. As a result, Al Khor and Thakhira residents can easily enjoy shopping at the new branch, thanks to its convenient location on the Thakhira highway.

The 4150 sqm Thakhira branch entails 1750 sqm of supermarket area. The store offers shoppers a wide variety of food and non-food related items as well as fresh products. The store includes a butchery, fishery, delicatessen, fruits and vegetables area and bakery to answer to the consumers’ various daily needs. In addition, the branch will feature 5 tenants, from restaurants to shops, to provide customers with additional services.

The new branch boasts state-of-the-art elements, from the high-tech lighting to the storage techniques and technologies. The branch’s world-class shelves highly reflect the company’s keenness to offer the best products display to its customers; good-looking and well-spaced shelves allow customers to shop their items efficiently.

When discussing the expansion strategy, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Qahtani, Deputy CEO of Al Meera, said:

“On our path to construct new branches across Qatar, we are supporting the development of new areas all around the State. This strategy is in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. Our motto, ‘"Your Favourite Neighbourhood Retailer" remains true, and our efforts are continuously directed at maintaining this positioning.”

In order to achieve a wider spread that satisfies its customers, Al Meera is inaugurating four other branches this year in Al Wakra, Al Thumama, Al Wajba and Rawdat Ekdeem. The aforementioned stores will be opening their doors weeks apart, one after the other.

Soon, Al Meera will begin works on the Al Khor branch as part of Al Meera’s expansion strategy to construct 14 new shopping malls across Qatar, located in Sailiya North, Bu Sidra, Al Wakra2, Umm Salal, Leabaib 1, Leabaib 2, Rawdat Aba El-Herran, Azghawa, Al Khor, Um Qarn, Rawdat Al Hamama, Jeryan Junaihat, Al Sailiya and Ain Khaled.

Upon completing the construction works, Al Meera will open its new branches after obtaining the necessary approvals and licenses from the relevant authorities; thus, making it a supermarket chain of 56 branches spread from the south to north, and east to west of Qatar.

The goal of Al Meera’s expansion is to provide outlets to all consumers wherever they are in Qatar. In parallel, Al Meera continues to rehabilitate its old branches to integrate them with the new innovative concept, which is designed by international companies to meet the Qatari market requirements.
